HEYDAY is a waterfowl hunting gear company that builds durable decoys, rigging and outdoor essentials for duck and goose hunters who want less work around their spread and more time enjoying the hunt.

HydroFoam duck and goose decoys

We build HydroFoam decoys for hunters putting together duck and goose spreads. Our closed-cell foam bodies, hollow interiors and dual keels help simplify carrying, setting and picking up your decoys.

Texas rigs and motion systems

Our rigging includes Texas rigs, jerk rigs, gang rigs and components for building your own setup. Choose the length, anchor weight and configuration that fit your water depth, current and hunting style.

Hunting accessories

Our hunting accessories include shotgun cases, slings, straps, totes and hangers. They help organize and carry the gear that travels from your truck to the blind.

Dog gear and outdoor essentials

We also make dog water and food gear, a folding dog bed, beverage accessories and apparel. These outdoor essentials extend the same practical approach to time at camp, on the road and with your dogs.

What makes HEYDAY different

100% HydroFoam construction

Our HydroFoam Mallards have bodies made from closed-cell EVA foam, so the material itself provides flotation. That construction differs from products such as Higdon Standard Mallards, which offer regular and foam-filled versions.

Two keels for water and solid ground

Our SmoothMove Dual-Keel design uses two rounded keels to support floating spreads and level deployment on riverbanks, fields and ice. For comparison, Avian-X Topflight Fusion Mallards use a weight-forward swim keel designed for movement on water.

4.75 pounds of removable ballast per dozen

Our HydroFoam Mallards weigh 10.875 pounds per dozen without UpRight weights and 15.625 pounds with them installed. Remove the included ballast to carry 4.75 fewer pounds per dozen, or install it for self-righting performance.

3/32-inch coated steel Texas rigs

Our Texas rigs use 3/32-inch PVC-coated steel cable, with a sliding decoy connection and fixed anchor. By comparison, Rig’Em Right Xtreme Texas Rigs specify 600-pound monofilament.

12 connection points on one jerk-rig mainline

Our Jerk Rig System has a 90-foot coated steel mainline with 12 connection points and six decoy drops included. Rig’Em Right’s Jerk Rig includes four pre-tied swivels on 100 feet of nylon line; additional drops are needed to use all 12 HEYDAY connection points.

The team behind HEYDAY

Peter Andrews, Founder and President

Founder Peter Andrews grew up hunting around his family’s rice farm near El Campo, Texas. Frustration with tangled decoy lines led him to experiment with coated steel cable and build the rigs that started our business.

Dane Webb, Owner and CFO

Peter’s college friend and business partner Dane Webb helped develop the foam-decoy idea. During a lake outing, a floating foam shoe gave them a new way to think about a durable, buoyant decoy body.

From Lifetime Decoys to HEYDAY

We began as Lifetime Decoys in 2012 near Austin, introducing PVC-coated steel Texas rigs, and launched our foam decoys in 2019. The HEYDAY name grew from that foundation as our range expanded into more of the gear we use outdoors.

Our shipping policy lists 2–3 business days to process most standard orders, followed by approximately 1–5 days in transit; preorders, backorders and customized orders are excluded. Shipment tracking is sent by email, and applicable shipping charges are shown at checkout.

Is HEYDAY the same company as Lifetime Decoys?

Yes, HEYDAY grew from Lifetime Decoys, which began in 2012. Our name changed as our product range expanded beyond decoys and rigging.

What is HydroFoam?

HydroFoam is the closed-cell EVA foam used in our decoy bodies. The buoyant material lets us hollow out the body to reduce weight.

Can I use HEYDAY decoys on land?

Yes, the dual-keel design supports deployment on hard ground as well as water. That includes fields, riverbanks and ice edges.

Do I need to install the UpRight weights?

The included weights are removable so you can configure your decoys for the conditions. Install them when self-righting and additional stability matter, including rough water or spots where you cannot wade out to adjust a decoy.

How do I choose a Texas-rig length?

Match your rig to the depth and conditions you hunt; our four-foot setup is a common choice for wader-deep water. Our rigging FAQs explain the options and recommend a gang rig for water deeper than ten feet.

How do returns and warranty support work?

Our published policy allows returns within 30 days of purchase, subject to its shipping terms, and provides replacement support for defective products with a receipt and photos. Purchases from another retailer follow that retailer’s return policy; review our full policy for details and exclusions.
